SIERRA DESIGNS developed the revolutionary “60/40 (Roku-Yon Cross)” material in 1968. It consists of 60% cotton for the weft and 40% nylon for the warp. When wet, the cotton expands, closing the weave and making it less permeable to water while maintaining breathability. This original functional material is also known for its unique texture that develops character over time.

Remarkable Evolution of the 60/40 Cloth
The new 60/40 Cloth, developed in collaboration with the American material manufacturer INVISTA, updates the “60/40” with super-durable Cordura nylon instead of regular nylon. It retains excellent breathability, water resistance, and rugged texture while significantly improving durability and tensile strength.

Classic Details Remain
The three-piece, sculpted hood can be adjusted with a drawcord, and the iconic leather “cookie” serves as a design highlight.

Sleek Design Incorporating Military Elements
The front features a double zip and snap button placket. Compared to inline models, it offers a wider, more relaxed fit, allowing for temperature regulation through the front opening and a fresh silhouette not found elsewhere.

The jacket includes snap-button flap pockets on both sides. By limiting the front design to two hand pockets, it achieves a clean, modern look.

The sleeves are designed with darts for a sculpted fit that conforms to the arm. Additionally, the cuffs are elasticized for a snug fit. The drawcord at the hem allows for adjustable nuances.
